About Us
Meet the Oliai’s
Hello and thanks for your interest
in Alces Vehicle Storage
We’re Bob and Sarah Oliai. Like you, we’re enthusiasts of anything with a motor. Pickup trucks. ATVs. Muscle cars. Toyota Land Cruisers. Boats and Musky fishing. If it rolls on wheels or cuts through the water, we love it.
Over the years, work and life took us south to Texas. But our midwestern roots are as strong as ever, bringing us back when the weather’s perfect to spend time with family and friends in the great outdoors with our gas- guzzling toys.
The only problem we had was finding a storage facility that would provide the same level of pampering for our vehicles as we give them at home.
Then we thought, maybe other folks have the same problem. So, we put our heads together and decided to build a storage facility for our own vehicles and for anyone else who wanted a clean, secure, pest-free, and climate-controlled space for their motorized family treasures to hibernate during the winter or year around.
And that’s how Alces Vehicle Storage was born.
named to honor our building’s history
Before Alces Vehicle Storage moved in…
- Our building used to be the home of the Freeport Moose Lodge and before that the home of Ihm Motors, whose owner was an active member of the Lodge.
- Alces is the genus and species name for the moose. We chose the name as a way to recognize our building’s heritage and those who put it on the map.
- We hope to continue in the tradition of serving the people of Freeport, surrounding areas, and those visiting for the summer months like us.
